Alanis Morissette
Alanis Nadine was born on 1 June 1974. Her birthplace was Ottawa, Canada. Alanis' Greek is a female variant of the name Alan's father's. Her siblings are Chad (Alanis Twin) and Wade. She was able to play the piano at age 6 and then took up guitar at the age of 21. Alanis made a hit single in 1986 called Fate Stay With Me (b-side : Find The Right Man). She was a dance-pop Canadian artist her albums include: Alanis (1991), and Now Is The Time (1992). After turning 18 she relocated from NYC to Toronto and her attempts to collaborate with songwriters and musicians failed. Then, in 1994, she found the right partner: music producer and songwriter Glen Ballard, who had already worked with many musicians, such as Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand. She moved to LA at the age of 19 years old. Madonna came out with "Jagged Little Pill" the song on June 13th, 1995. Alanis discovered an extremely personal, autobiographical way to write songs. JLP has sold about 30 million copies throughout the world, turning into the most popular female album, and also the third top-selling album of all times. JLP was released after enduring anxiety (she had thought of not releasing an album) while taking the trip to Europe.
