Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero (born Patricia Apollonia Kotero) is a famous American actress, singer and model. She was a model for a while before becoming an actress. Kotero was the female lead performer for Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. The singer and actress christened Apollonia by Prince was one of many female musicians in the '80s who benefited from her relationship with the Purple One. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica, California in 1959. Her professional career began with modeling in the late 1970s. She also was a guest on CHiPS. Kotero was the female lead of Prince's Purple Rain in 1984 (at which point he had changed her name). At the time of that year, she took over Vanity in the form of the trio Vanity 6 and was a part of the group under the name Apollonia 6 in the film. Sex Shooter was only a small success for the trio, however, she had an even bigger effect as the duet partner of Prince on Take Me with You on the soundtrack. When the two had a disagreement over the direction of her career Apollonia 6 split up and Kotero ended her association with Prince. Kotero was in a few minor film projects during this time however, she was not able to appear in The Purple Rain sequel Under the Cherry Moon. From 1985 to 1986 she was offered a role on the show called Falcon Crest. Apollonia made her debut in 1988 but the comparatively insignificant collection of R&B/dance songs failed to make much impression on those who bought music, and it soon disappeared out of sight. In the years following, she continued to be active in the field of acting (if somewhat unnoticed) as well as a couple of TV roles, movies and an exercise video. In 1997 Apollonia made a record in English and Spanish named Stay with Me. She returned to the school where she received her diploma in filmmaking. She then formed her company and worked as a child's TV host. Apollonia Kotero is famous for wearing many hats. She was a former actor, singer and model.
