The range and diversity of Audra's work as a performer is second to none. She has won the Tony Awards six times, as well as two Grammy Awards, as well as an Emmy Award. In 1999, she appeared alongside Kathy Bates and Victor Garber on the ABC/Disney television version of Annie. Then, in 2000, she played a regular role in NBC's well-known show Law & Order Special Victims Unit. McDonald, who earned an Emmy Award nomination back in 1999 for her work on the HBO adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning film Wit with Emma Thompson, returned with the company in 2003 for the drama on politics Mister Sterling. The film was written and produced by Emmy Award-winning Lawrence O'Donnell Jr. In early 2006 she joined the crew of The Bedford Diaries on the WB. The Bedford Diaries and over the next season she had the role of a regular on the NBC television show Kidnapped. McDonald got a fourth Emmy nomination for her part in the HBO film special Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill in 2016. The Bite will be a 6-episode drama focusing on a deadly pandemic that will be produced by Spectrum Originals, CBS Studios and Taylor Schilling in 2021. McDonald was U.S. prosecutor Liz Lawrence, a character she first played in CBS's The Good Wife legal drama in the year 2009. She reprised this role in the year 2018, playing Season main character Liz Reddick in Paramount+'s The Good Fight. In recognition of her performance, McDonald received three Critics Choice Award nominated. The actress also appeared on Julian Fellowes historical drama The Gilded Age.
