Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and musician who made her name with smart raps that addressed gender and ethnic identities from a a boldly comic perspective. Then she branched out into Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. After classical and Jazz training, she delved into hip-hop when she was an teen. Following a focus on education, she graduated with an education in journalism at the college as well as a women's studies degree. When she graduated, she started to pursue music as her main focus. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut LP Yellow Ranger.
